On May 7, 2024, BEMC awarded a community grant, enabling the club to make improvements to our gardens. In the spring, the soil in the six Beautification Gardens was prepared, and a variety of native flowers designed to attract pollinators were planted. As the pollinator gardens grew, they attracted birds, bees, wasps, and butterflies that fed on the nectar. The butterfly life cycle—from egg, to caterpillar, to chrysalis, and finally to butterfly—unfolded. These pollinators play a crucial role by transferring pollen from one bloom to another, aiding in fertilization, seed development, and fruit growth. Pollination is essential for our ecosystem, and these small gardens serve as models for creating a pollinator-friendly garden at home. Thank you everyone who supports the gardens!
